I use the calendar function a lot and — from what I can see — functionality is vastly reduced compared to pre-upgrade.
There’s no way to go back to earlier days (to see if I’ve missed anything), or indeed forward beyond a week. There are no popups to tell me what the icons mean.
I used to be able to show my shows, all shows, new shows and season premiers. That’s been reduced to my shows and new shows.
The big new poster icons for each show might look nice, but on a day when there are a lot of programmes on, this is surely going to mean a huge amount of scrolling? I can’t verify this as I can’t move backwards or forwards through the calendar (see above) to check!
Overall, it looks lovely, but the reduced functionality is a huge backwards step ☹
Reading other comments, it seems there are many other issues as well. This really should have been beta tested thoroughly before release.
Lots of calendar options are now available.
Worst thing about the improved calendar, no option to auto hide watched shows, no way to unhide shows
My calendar is not showing up on google calendar.
"Tons of calendar options are now available."
And it still sucks.
Can you please bring back the hide watched episodes option. I so miss this, it was nice to not have the watched stuff cluttering up the calendar. Oh and thanks for finally adding the by month view I really prefer that view. I know you guys are getting a lot of bashing over the 2.0 calendar so let me say I love the fact it now shows the episode name as well as the show name, good job! Keep it coming

I understand that there has been a message on the calendar saying "Don't worry, we will be adding alternate and monthly calendar views soon," but could we have more clarification on when 'soon' is? It's been over 2 months now, and arguably the most useful feature of the calendar before trakt 2.0 (month view) is still not implemented. And as Tiffany mentioned, the 'internal ads' are not appreciated in the actual calendar it's self, it just creates more clutter and confuses the user.
To sum things up. WHEN will a month view be added?
What the heck... now you're displaying VIP ads right along with my shows, as if they're shows? Couldn't you find a better location for ads? Like, not on the calendar itself...
Can't understand why the hide feature. IMO it should be easy to have a "my shows" list for all the shows I want to keep going to watch and a "all my episodes" list to keep track of all the episodes I ever saw.
In the calendar then I should see the "my shows" list for future episodes.
Hiding some show is meaningless: why should I want to hide some episodes I saw in the past? I saw them and that's it, it's in the past. Now I want to see other shows and it has nothig to do with what I saw.
I'm glad that we can again hide shows on the calendar. But, can we unhide them later? We will again have as before a page with the hidden shows so that we can restore it later if we want to?

Until the update people can install my user scripts.
To remove specials install https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/7421-remove-specials-from-trakt-calendar-v2.
To remove watch shows install https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/7422-remove-watched-shows-from-trakt-calendar-v2.
I think i could get used to the new calendar view, If it wasn't stuck to a one week view...
If it defaulted to the current date, but allowed you to scroll to the bottom and it would load more days automatically (like Facebook)
Would be great if they could do it backwards also.
I agree, Calendar was the main reason I would visit the site daily to track my shows. The new calendar just doesn't do it. Need to be able to hide shows. I went to take a look just now but the site is just displaying as a blank white page. Ho hum
Especially the part where there are shows showing that I've only watched one episode of and am not interested in continuing! I actually like the new page design, but I agree that the calendar design is sh!t.
Looking forward to be able to hide shows though
And with the update today, we may have the prev/next week links back, but they actually managed to make the page WORSE. Episode pictures instead of series pictures, ugh I hate that, I just want to be able to look and immediately know what shows are airing tonight, if I wanted episode info I would go to that page. And it was too big before, so they made it bigger? Some days I have 10+ shows to watch, that doesn't even fit on one page. It just looks like a complete mess to me, instead of the nice organized, easily identifiable grid it used to be.
Incidentally, I'm getting a lot of page freezing mainly when I've clicked on one of the icons below a program in calendar mode (such as "add to collection" due to the KODI plug-in seeming not to be updating). I click and my mouse pointer sticks as a pointy finger for 1-2 minutes; the rest of the page freezes up - can't scroll or anything.
Using Chrome (latest build) on Windows 7.
OK, so skipping back a few weeks (which I can finally do), it seems there's no scrolling but instead the huge panels wrap round. Better, but still a mess. The previous columnar view with smaller images was far better.
Still, given that trakt is the only site with a working (well, hopefully...) XBMC/KODI plug-in, I'll just have to deal with it.

Boy, that was fast! (that's what she said)
Calendar is working adequately now. And with the different view options coming soon as well as the ability to hide shows, it will be perfect. again ;)
Also thanks for bringing back the Hide Completed option to the Progress screen.
The new look of the site starts to grow on me. It certainly feels faster. Although the tiles representing the shows and movies could be made smaller. And that huge red/black tapestry on the profile page takes up a lot of useful screen space.
Keep up the good work!
So I notice that the calendar page is becoming more useful (though this *should* have been functional before the new site was launched) but the new style looks horribly like it's tablet-based. Huge panel images and sideways scrolling. Terrible on a desktop/laptop.
I sincerely hope one of the "alternate views" mentioned in the side panel is one with far smaller icons *and* a vertical layout. Mice have scroll wheels to enable easy up/down scrolling, most don't have an equivalent left/right.
I agree. I miss the old calendar, this is useless and it shows all my hidden tv shows
I would also like to mention that the calendar was the main feature I used on the site and that this current one is completely useless, I never used the week view, always the month, and it was the best I would often scroll around to find out when shows were starting again to make sure I would catch them. It would also alert me to when things were missing from my collection that I needed to get. I had to actually go to another site today to find out some information about shows. I am not sure what your site stats told you about how much the calendar was used but this was a big mistake.
I'm also disappointed to see this feature disappear. However, until they fix it you can manually change the date by adding the date to the end of the URL like so http://trakt.tv/calendars/my/shows/2014-12-22
