A user-focused interface that reduces overwhelm
As a user, I don't want more-more-more, I want the specific things that interest me. I don't want to wander around the website, as I just don't have time for that.
I just signed up for Trakt. I selected the genres that I enjoy. I was immediately presented with an interface with so many options that my initial thought was, "Holy crap, I selected too many genres."
My immediate next thought: "I don't have time for this."
There's only a handful of movies and shows I've ever rewatched, as I like a constant stream of new things. Being able to find new shows and movies for me, as a cordcutter, is very useful.
I'm left with the distinct impression that the site was not designed with my use-case in mind.
Every single service tries to shove more-more-more at me. There's very little difference in wasting two hours trying to decide on a show on Netflix and wasting two hours trying to find a show on cable. When I only had two hours to watch anything, neither case sees me accomplishing what I wanted to do.
I don't need more options. I just need to quickly get the best options for me.

Thanks for the feedback. So, are you talking about a specific step in the welcome wizard that was confusing to you? I'm unclear what specific page you're referring to.
