How can we improve Trakt?

Import from IMDb

It would be nice if there would be a function to import my imdb watchlist into trakt, so I don't have to do all movies manually

They still haven't added the automation YET?! it's funny how they use IMDB API to get the information...

How is it that you can look up an IMDB by it's IMDB number one at a time, but there is no automated way to do your whole list?

Also: perhaps it could be “IMDB users can import their watchlists by entering username #.

VIP: Import custom IMDB lists as new Trakt lists.” ?

Don’t think this is automated yet.. Elementum and other popular Kodi addons have both Trakt and IMDB integration, so maybe that’s why Jimmy and team haven’t put this as a priority.

*I used IMDB for 10+ years before I ever even heard of Trakt, so of course I’ve got a good, older Watchlist that I need integrated with my current Trakt.*

Since username is displayed in the profile url, I just meant a regular pull from the Watchlist (not any fancy list import, just a list of titles in the default user list)—that would be less complicated, I imagine?

Very strange this has 40 comments and is this old... or did I miss the fix for this?

I have voted for hundreds of movies and tv shows. I will not use trakt, if a have to do it again manually.

Is there any update on this? I see these ideas have been sitting here for a long time now!

i see that this question has 4 years old but i still can't find an answer. anyone knows if this is solved yet? can IMDb users import their database to Trakt already?

Yep, really need something like this. I have half my watched/rating stuff on IMDB and half on trakt. Would be great to have this merged on trakt

    @ltfearme: Thanks for creating TraktRater.
Can it be installed on Mac?
I only see an .exe file on the github page.

@fred: There is a trakt list addin for kodi (in the official repo even), although not that stable.

Yes, I agree... I found this by searching on Google to find out if there is a way...
IMDB is way, way better than Trakt for FINDING movies, plus you can see trailers, so it's a great way to find stuff, but I need Trakt's custom lists in Kodi... THE reason I use Trakt.

Really would like to import tv shows watchlist into trakt to make them available on android using kodi. Trakt currently will not import imdb using neither the rss nor the exported csv.

Sadly android users cannot use TraktRater.
Equally unfortunate the kodi Genesis addon has ceased to import tv shows. It only does movies.

Watchlist is for items you intend to watch in the future and not something you have already seen.

I figured a way out to move my watchlist to history faster..
Quickly rate your entries in your imdb watchlist.
Now you can import them straight to the history list with TraktRater.

Not a fix, but certainly faster than one by one and putting clicking on releasedate.
