Shows notifications for new episodes, email digest
I really like your site but I think there's a big feature missing.
Why don't I have the option to receive an email notification for new episodes of my watchlist shows or even a weekly/monthly digest email with my watchlist shows episodes for the next week or month should be essential.
Please give me a feedback on this.
Calendar notifications via email are now available. Here’s a blog post with more details.
Yes, the link in my previous reply has all the details about getting email notifications which can be used to see season premieres.
Iwould like email or text when shows are coming and return back
We are currently beta testing new VIP email notifications for your daily and weekly calendar. If you'd like to participate in the beta, please see https://trakt.tv/forums/new-features/topics/daily-weekly-calendar-emails for more details.
This can be achieved by using RSS feature of Trakt VIP and IFTTT Email digest.

It would be cool if we could have a calendar app like next aired or something.

Agreed. No android app? Android app with new episode notification for selected content. Have a separate option for email's because I think that would clutter our email fast with so many shows/movies.
agreed. It should be a feature.
This is the whole reason I just signed up (with another email address). I figured it was it's sole purpose...the ability is still not there.

I would like to receive daily alerts for my shows too. It's not always possible to visit the website, and checking emails is much easier because of multiple reasons.
A reason to have the email digest is because some people go to their email daily, but not to the trakt site. Some people might even prefer to see what is on that night while they are still at work, to help decide if they want to stay home that night or go out and socialize, but their work might have access to sites like trakt blocked. Also, not everyone memorizes the TV schedule. Not everyone memorizes season premieres. And sometimes you just want a quick reminder in your email because you are already checking it, rather than having to check the site to see if you even want to turn on the TV that day.
I disagree that this is essential. You have all the information you need on the site, why would you want this in e-mail format aswell? Since TV is on a regular schedule you pretty much know when something is going to air anyways. Having a preview of it (with potential spoilers in the description) would require that the necessary information for these things is around in advance which isn't realistic. You can view all this in the calendar on the site which should be good enough. To setup this system would take too much effort to do it well (and will not be used by many). You also don't have to add upcoming episodes to your watchlist, you can check them out on the progress page.
