Please add better collection tracking options, dvd, bluray, VHS, laser disc, digital purchases: amazon, apple itunes, xbox, ps4, vudu, etc. With privacy options please.1 vote
We currently support most of these options already. We have an overall “digital” option which is meant for any your digital purchases. The metadata only shows up when viewing your own profile, no one else sees it.
More info about this in https://blog.trakt.tv/how-to-build-your-collection-146e6e80bcd7
Add a filter that allows you to only view films / shows that are currently available to purchase on disk or on digital, i.e. ignore films that's are both in theatres and in the void between theatre and full release.1 vote
You can actually do this already using advanced filtering. Click the advanced icon, then under “Available to watch on” you can choose “Any Service” to find only items available to stream somewhere. You can also choose “DVD & Blu-ray” to find only items with a physical release date.
The differences between Standard Membership and VIP Membership are displayed in great detailed; however, there are two options for VIP memberships, with the second, VIP EP, at twice the cost of a (Standard) VIP membership. The description only shows VIP with Executive Producer credits but does not show any other details about the differences between both VIP memberships. After searching conducting extensive searches here on Trakt.tv, I was unable to find any information regarding this topic, hence this post. It would be helpful to see details accompany any feature, especially one that has a pricetag attached -- in other words, many may want to know what advantages would be provided to justify paying twice the cost of one (VIP Membership) over the other. I believe those details would be beneficial to Trakt.tv as well since there are no incentives shown, and I'm one who loves features and information.

The features are currently the same for both levels. EP has the additional VIP EP badge and is a higher level of support if you really love Trakt and want to contribute a bit more to the project :) If we add EP only features, the trakt.tv/vip page will for sure be updated with that info.
When you click on the December chart for MOVIES or TV SHOWS
It doesn't return anything : "Nothing to see here. Move along, move along."
That's because it doesn't select the correct end date.
for December 2016 : startat=2016-12-01&endat=2015-12-31T23:59:59
for December 2015 : startat=2015-12-01&endat=2014-12-31T23:59:591 vote
Will be fixed in this week’s update.
The new version of the "watch now" buttons are not hidden despite setting the option for "Hide Rent/Buy Buttons" in the settings.2 votes
New global setting to hide the watch now buttons. VIP only.
It would be great to set a cover image for list as it's displayed on one's profile page, instead of a (seemingly) random TV show within the list.
Example: https://trakt.tv/users/mptpro4 votes
It uses the #1 ranked item as the background image.
When we click on the profile widget on a TV Show, no problem it works.
When we click on a movie : we arrive on a sort of generic page containing : https://walter.trakt.tv/images/movies/000/087/254/fanarts/medium/c14b3cbc96.jpg with a "MOVIES" title
Is this a normal behavior ?1 vote
Good catch, the bug will be fixed in an update early next week.
In the Year In review feature you have two sections
- Movie plays by year/month/week/...
- Episode plays by year/month/week/...
- Movie plays by time of the day
- Episode plays by time of the day
It could either be split by periods
- Morning : 6 AM-10 AM
- Midday : 11 AM - 2 PM
- Afternoon : 3 PM - 6 PM
- Evening : 7 PM - 9 PM
- Night : 10 PM - 5 AM
just simply split into 24 columns for all the different hours when a play is finished18 votes
This will be available in this week’s update. A new graph with 24 time slots will be added for episodes and movies.
The only suggestions I could find for Pushover were from late 2013, almost 3 years ago. Is it possible that Pushover support could be reconsidered? Perhaps as a VIP-only option, given that the stated objection was the cost of a higher API request limit.3 votes
Pushover is now available as a notification channel.
I subscribed to my watched-ics feed with Google Calendar. When I looked at it today, I saw that the ics file only contains the watched episodes from the current month.
Is this indended and how can I sync all data?
The csv file contains all entries.1 vote
By default, the feeds contain the last 60 items. You can override this to a higher limit, check out https://blog.trakt.tv/ical-and-rss-feeds-f2028da560e3 near the bottom in the “advanced” section.
Have an easier access to the VIP forums.
Like the Year in Review dropdown item.
There is a link in the footer of the site. The user menu is so long I decided against that for now.
In my opinion this is a must. The URL being something with ?width400?height50
At the moment, using with BBCode on sites unable to resize means huge 1000x160 image is hogging screen real estate and complaints being recieved by site owners.3 votes
You can choose “non retina” to get the smaller size. No plans for arbitrary image sizes at this point.
Imho it would make more sense to sort the "Collected" view by the number of owners and not collected episodes. Longer running shows and those with more episodes/season in general have a major advantage. How many people from the community that are involved is to me at least more interesting than the amount of episodes a show can rack up.1 vote
Agreed, I think that was actually a bug that I didn’t already do this based on the text in the sidenav.
Would be great if the options included the show status (ended, airing). I can see something like this being really useful when browsing networks (which are now linked up).1 vote
Good call, this will be added in the next update. TV and advanced search (in show mode) support it.
When we have advanced search, we are not able to search with any ID. When we try it, we get a 500 error.
P.S.: I'm receiving a 500 error when I try to search for "nip" in search by episode. Why?2 votes
Both will be fixed in next weeks update.
It would be nice to make the movies/actors/directors clickable in the year in review page to go directly access the movie/actor/director page.1 vote
This will be updated in the next code push. Links added to the people headshots. Movies and shows should already be linked.
As the title suggests1 vote
Trakt is free to use and VIP is optional to get extended features and keep the site running.
On all of the following pages, whenever I try to use the filters, the drop-down menu disappears behind any images it overlaps if the page is not scrolled to the very top or bottom.
Example of the calendar page bug: http://i.imgur.com/vMBYHDW.png
Using Chrome Version 44.0.2403.30 beta (64-bit)
"Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'getContext' of undefined"3 votes
Menu fixed to always be above.
The history page used to be grouped by date with a prominent title of said date, which made skimming through it to find something a lot easier. Please bring that back or implement something similar (maybe add a month filter too). Now I have to go through and read the small print date under each image, which is very inconvenient.0 votes
It should still do this, I am testing on my history page and it looks ok right now. Can you provide details about your browser and ideally the debug from the browser console to see if there are any errors?
If I forget to add a film as soon as I purchase it, I'd like the ability to add it as "collected" on the appropriate date, much like the ability we have for marking things as watched on a previous date.3 votes
This update will go out in the next push.
